We are pleased to announce our summer tournament, Capture The Flag! This will be our first tournament and we are looking forward to see you participating!
Capture the Flag is a game mode in which you mix racing and shooter. In this game mode, the goal is to capture the flag from your opponents' base and bring it back to your base. This means that your flag also will be taken by the opposition and you will have to hunt them down to get it back. This can be done by shooting a rocket, ramming or making them fall into the water. The flag will be left at the spot the player died and you can safely return it to your base.
For this tournament we are going to play 5 vs 5, meaning that there will be 5 players on both teams as we start. This also means that you need to have a minimum of five players on your team with a maximum of seven. We have capped it at maximum 32 teams able to participate.
One match consists of 2 maps. Each map will be played twice, however each team will change bases after 10 minutes of play time. (1 map = 2 halves = 2*10 minutes) You will win automatically, if you score three times, or if you have scored the most times after ten minutes. In the case of draw after 10 minutes of play time, we will continue playing until any team scores one point.
List of maps:
For our group stages we have decided to have four teams in each group. These teams will play each other one time. First and second place will go through to the next round. If third and second have the same amount of points we will have ratio system in place, so that the team with the best captured - lost ratio goes through. You will get three points if you win a match under ten minutes of playtime, two points if you win a match after a draw, one point if you lose after a draw and zero points if you lose a match under ten minutes. This will then be calculated to see whether or not you win the match.
This is an example of how a group could end up.
In this scenario, Team 1 and Team 2 would go through to the next stages. Team 3 will not go through, even though they have the same amount of points as Team 2 because of the flags difference.
After finishing group stages, knockout stages begin. We will divide the teams that went through group stages into two groups. One group will consist of the seeded team, which will be teams that finished in first place. The other group will be unseeded teams, teams that finished in second place. We will then randomize which teams will go up against each other, making it something like this:
The maximum ping allowed is 300.
Planting the flag in a spot where it is hard or impossible to be returned is forbidden. This will result in the player being disqualified and NO replacement will be allowed.
Any kind of insulting or provoking will result in a mute or kick.
If a player has to leave during a round, the player can be replaced by a reserve.
Using the hydraulics is NOT allowed.
Any kind of cheating/hacking or using other methods which gives you an advantage over the other team (and your own teammates) will result in a ban. Your team will have to carry on without a replacement for the entire duration of the match.
Faking another player to play for someone else's team will result in the team being disqualified from the tournament.
There must be at least 16 teams registered for the tournament to go ahead. If there is demand for more than 32 teams, we will see if we can work something out.
In order to register your team, we have created a website, which you can find here. When you first log in, you will have to log in with your forum account. After you have logged in, go to 'profile' -> 'my settings', this is where you will set your MTA serial and link your discord to your account. Discord will be used to keep you updated!
After you have linked your serial and discord, you will be able to either create a team or join a team. For a team to become verified, you will need to have five players and they will all have to create an account. When the account has been created, players also need to link their serial and discord before they can join a team. They will then be able to make a join request or be invited by the team leader. If they are invited by the team leader they have to accept it, while if they make a join request, the team leader has to accept it.
Registration has been extended and will now close on 16th of August 2019 at 20:00 GMT. Remember that the first 32 teams to get verified will be accepted into the tournament!
Currently we have a prize pool of 300 euros, which will be divided between first, second and third. This will be increased by the donations that we get. Donors will also be able to watch matches in-game! The prize pool will be split evenly towards all members within the team including reserves, we will offer PayPal as the primary payout option, however we will also offer Steam gift card codes. Steam itself is quite restrictive in terms of cash amounts, we will attempt to get the closest amount available. If any team member does not want to accept the payout option then their share will be split evenly to the remaining members in the team.
We are currently working on our donation system, and it will be up as soon as possible!
We will also put up a Capture the Flag training server for you to train with your teammates. This will open soon.
You will be able to choose maps by using 'F6'.
